It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
View MoreIn truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
View MoreIt's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
View MoreAll of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
View MoreAmazon Studios is really stacking up against the film and television giants thanks to its ever-increasing output of quality entertainment that it's been doing for the past decade now. The Tick is another well-realized superhero show that's fresh territory far away from the current MARVEL and DC bunch. Though I like those two companies (love 'em actually), it's good that properties like The Tick are finally getting in on the superhero craze thing that's been on a winning streak since the early 2000s. Now I'm hoping something like Savage Dragon or Hell-Boy can get similarly respectful treatment like this has gotten.
View MoreHow can you not like this? I personally love the storyline!! Sure it isn't exactly the same as the comics series we used to read but it was a great revamp. All the actors did great and I really hope they keep making more episodes. Peter Serafinowicz is a great actor too and nailed playing The Tick. A must watch series with the kids and to relive my favorite super hero.
View MoreI saw the pilot. It didn't work, then I watched the series based on some recommendations. The first episode borrowed form the Pilot, but it was much improved. Much sharper and faster paced. The Pilot - (now Episode 0), 4 out of 10. The series, so far (I'm 4 episodes in), 8 out of 10. It's worth giving a try for any tick fan. More lively than the Warburton version and much better villains. Worth a look.
View MoreJust meh. I don't know, this series isn't good enough to make you want to watch another season. The biggest problem is the dialogue, the writing. The Tick says his random catch phrases over and over again and you're ready to be done with the entire series by the end of episode three. Whereas the 2001 live action Tick series, which I watch right after watching this one, I swear the Tick has a bigger vocabulary or something because he is an idiot but the 2017 Tick makes him seem like a genius. Whatever, I am getting off topic. The writing killed this series for me. I have zero interest in watching the second season. Amazon has better get their stuff together. This is like the second or third amazon studios thing that has left me saying meh.
